RESULTS
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Paced by a 72 from Blake Wisdom, the Bucknell men's golf team opened its spring season with a 5-over-par 293 team score at the Loyola Invitational at Palm Valley Golf Club. The Bison are tied for seventh place in a field of 19 and just six shots off the lead.
All five Bison in action posted scores from 72-75 in chilly and windy conditions on Sunday. Wisdom's even-par round came with three birdies, and he is tied for 15th place. Andres Barraza also made three birdies and shot 73, followed by Jackson Bussell and James Key with 74s. Michael Rudnick made three birdies and an eagle but dropped to a 75 with a couple of late bogeys.
The leaderboard is tightly bunched with only seven shots separating the top 10 teams on the leaderboard. Marquette's 1-under 287 is two shots better than host Loyola, with Wright State and Utah Valley tied for third at 291.
Brady Kaufmann of SIU Edwardsville and Aryan Vuradi of George Mason share the individual lead are posting 4-under 68. Arizona State individual Gabriel Salvanera is one stroke back.
The Bison will play in foursomes with Marshall, George Mason, and SIU Edwardsville in Monday morning's second round.
