
Women's Tennis Rolls Past Siena, 5-2

HERSHEY, Pa. – The Bucknell women's tennis team took on the Siena Saints and came away with a 5-2 victory Friday night, collecting its fourth straight win. The Bison swept the doubles point and won four of the top five singles matches to even its dual record at 6-6.
Bucknell's doubles tandems put up dominant performances, as Tyne Miller and Anna Lajos won 6-1 at the No. 2 spot, and Madi Sebulsky and Caroline Marcus posted the same score in a win at No. 3 doubles. Whitney King joined Abby Platt for a 6-3 win in the No. 1 doubles position.
The Bison then won four straight singles matches to clinch the match over the Saints. Whitney King (No.1), Tyne Miller (No. 3) and Abby Platt (No. 4) each won in straight sets, while Kate Novak went on to collect a win in three sets at No. 5 singles.
Bucknell's only lost points were in hard-fought matches at No. 2 and No. 6 singles. Lajos fell 7-6 (4), 6-4 to junior Alexa Wilson, and Mirra Manolov went three sets against Madeline De Faber-Schumacher before ultimately falling 6-4, 7-6 (6), 10-5.
Bucknell is back in action on Saturday for two more duals in Indiana, Pa. The Bison will face IUP at noon before taking on Findlay at 4 p.m.
