
Women's Basketball Hosts Boston U. on Senior Day

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison women's basketball team (12-13, 8-6 PL) enters Senior Day red hot with six straight wins as they battle Boston U. (19-6, 14-0 PL), who also are on a scorching streak of their own with 14 wins in a row. The Bison are coming off a 64-52 win over American, where Emma Shaffer pulled down 21 rebounds to set a personal high and finish two boards away from the Patriot League record. The Bison improved to above .500 as a program.Â
The Bison and Terriers met on Jan. 2, 2023, up in Boston, where Bucknell lost 68-47.Â
Bucknell will be holding Senior Day to honor Tai Johnson and Emma Shaffer.Â

• Bucknell won its sixth-straight game as the Bison defeated American, 64-52. American led early in the first quarter before Bucknell tied it up 11-11. Then the Bison surged ahead 30-23 by halftime. Remi Sisselman drained nine points in the third quarter to give the Bison a cushion. Bucknell cruised in the fourth quarter to complete the win. The Bison are now 12-13 and 8-6 in the Patriot League this season following the victory.Â
• The Bison relied on youth through their first thirteen games. The starting combo of Dingler, Johnson, King, Shaffer, and Theodorsson stepped up to win five of their eight games while Cecelia Collins was out with an injury. Since her return, the Bison are 3-0.
• Against American, on Feb. 11, 2023, Emma Shaffer earned her seventh career double-double by scoring 12 points and obtaining 21 rebounds. Her 21 rebounds were two away from the Patriot League record.Â
