LaSashia Connelly is in her third season with the Bucknell women's basketball staff. She was elevated to assistant coach after serving as the team's manager of basketball operations for two seasons.
Connelly arrived in Lewisburg after having spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Maine Maritime Academy where she helped lead the Mariners to a 20-6 record last season and a North Atlantic Conference Championship Tournament appearance.
“We’re excited to welcome LaSashia to our Bison family. We believe she is a perfect fit and will excel as our manager of operations,” said Woodruff.
Prior to her time with the Mariners, Connelly was an assistant coach and basketball operations manager at Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2016-17. That season Connelly helped coach a Bears defense that ranked eighth in the country in scoring defense and finished with an improved 17-12 record.
Before entering the collegiate coaching ranks, Connelly helped coach the girls basketball team at Jimmy C. Draughn High School, her alma mater. Connelly has also served as a Student-Athlete Academic Committee advisor at both of her previous stops as well as an admissions counselor as Maine Maritime Academy.
Connelly was a four-year member of the women’s basketball team at Salem College where she won a Great South Atlantic Conference Championship in 2014 and made an appearance in the Division III NCAA Tournament. Connelly earned her bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise at Salem in 2014.
