LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison women's basketball team (11-13, 7-6 PL) continues its run for tournament seeding as it travels to Washington D.C. to duel the American Eagles (6-18, 5-8 PL). The Bison are currently on a five-game winning streak. It is the first game between American and Bucknell since last season's Patriot League Championship Game, where the Eagles beat the Bison.Â

• Bucknell won its fifth-straight game as the Bison defeated Colgate, 50-44. The Bison seized the early advantage and led for most of the first half. Bucknell had an eight-point lead in the third quarter before Colgate went on a run to go up by one point entering the fourth. Bucknell grabbed the lead off an Isabella King three-pointer and never looked back. The Orange & Blue drained their free throws to complete the win. The Bison are now 11-13 and 7-6 in the Patriot League this season following the victory.Â
• The Bison relied on youth through their first thirteen games. Most recent starters have been a mixture of combinations and classes due to injuries. But the starting combo of Dingler, Johnson, King, Shaffer, and Theodorsson stepped up to win five of their eight games while Cecelia Collins was out with injury. Since her return, the Bison are 2-0.
• Against Colgate, on Feb. 11, 2023, Emma Shaffer earned her sixth career double-double by scoring 14 points and obtaining 15 rebounds.Â
