Men's Swim & Dive Travels to Baltimore for Saturday Dual at Loyola

Bucknell Men at a Glance
• Bucknell visits Loyola (Md.) on Saturday for its last dual meet of the fall semester. The Bison host one more Invitational the first weekend of December.
• With a win over the Greyhounds Bucknell would improve to 5-1 on the season. Last weekend, the Bison went 2-1 at the Navy Quad Meet, defeating American (216-74) and Lafayette (217-81) while falling to the hosting Midshipmen (151-131). Bucknell also has victories over Holy Cross (186-112) and Boston U. (173.5-124.5).
• Bucknell placed first among scored finishers in six events, including win by John Gehrig in both the 200 butterfly and 100 butterfly. The Bison and the Midshipmen combined to win all but one event at the meet.
• Gehrig has placed first seven times this season and was named Patriot League Male Swimmer of the Week back on Oct. 17. Jackson Vinarub also took home weekly honors that week, earning Patriot League Male Diver of the Week for the first time in his career.
• Vinarub made an addition to Bucknell's all-time top 10 list, registering the third-best 1-meter dive (289.65) in school history at Boston.
• Bucknell returned five All-Patriot League honorees this season: Justin DiSanto (2023 & 2022 2nd Team), Andy Dorsel (2022 1st Team, 2023 2nd Team), Chris Fabian (2022 1st Team, 2023 2nd Team), Gehrig (2023 & 2022 1st Team), Chris Fabian (2022 1st Team & 2023 2nd Team).
• The Bison lost two-time All-Patriot League honoree and three-time Patriot League medalist Leo Kuyl to graduation. Kuyl set both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle school records in 2023.
• Bucknell returned three school record holders: Kopac (200 freestyle), Fabian (100 butterfly) and Gehrig (200 butterfly, 200 IM).
• Bucknell finished the 2022-23 season 6-2 (5-2 PL) and placed third at the Patriot League Championships with 538.5 points. The Bison went on to take second at the ECAC Championships.
• Bucknell is 17-6 in duals since the start of the 2021-22 season.
• Seniors Gehrig, Fabian and Noah Basista are serving as team captains this season.
• Bucknell welcomed seven newcomers to the roster this season.
Scouting Loyola/Series History
• The Greyhounds remain unbeaten on the season, most recently dispatching Colgate (245-54), American (222-76) and William & Mary (193-69) a week ago. Loyola also has wins over Lehigh and Lafayette.
• Loyola junior Henry Mueller was named Patriot League Male Swimmer of the Week last week after a dominant performance at the Thomas Murphy Invitational, where he broke the Mangione Pool record in the 200 backstroke. Mueller is one of five returning All-Patriot League honorees on the roster from a year ago.
• The Greyhounds returned 40 of its 50 letterwinners from last season. The Greyhounds placed one spot behind the Bison at last year's Patriot League Championships with 455 points.
• Bucknell is 4-2 in meetings with Loyola since the 2017 campaign. The Bison have won each of the last two, including a narrow 154.5-145.5 victory at Kinney Natatorium last October.
