About Bucknell
• Bucknell softball wraps up its 2022 season with three games at Lafayette this weekend and will look to add to its Patriot League win column. The Leopards are 1-11 in league play this season.
• The Bison had five days off after going 0-3 against Lehigh last weekend. They're looking to snap an 11-game losing skid. Bucknell's last victory was a 13-0 decision against Saint Peter's on April 5, and its last league win was against Holy Cross on March 27.
• Bucknell put together one of its best offensive efforts of the season in game one against the Mountain Hawks, scoring 10 runs on 11 hits. The Bison erased a 7-0 deficit before eventually falling 11-10.
• Senior Nicole Rivait currently ranks ninth in the Patriot League in hits and 10th in doubles. She went 3-for-10 with a double and a pair of RBIs last weekend.
• Rookie Jessie Kincer and sophomore Annabella Hawkins both went 4-for-9 at the plate in the Lehigh series, and rookie MaKenzie Hilling hit her first career home run.
• Olivia Marinelli threw a team-high eight innings last weekend, while Kelly Toomey threw six strikeouts in 4.2 innings of work. Toomey leads the Bison with a 4.17 ERA this season.
• Bucknell is batting .215 as a team this season and has a team ERA of 4.78.
Scouting the Leopards
• Lafayette is sixth in the Patriot League at 8-31 (1-11 PL), earning its only league win against Colgate. The Leopards' last five games were against non-conference opponents. They dropped two games to Drexel on Thursday, defeated Wagner on Wednesday and split a doubleheader against Saint Peter's last week.
• Leading the Leopards in batting average (.281), doubles (10) and RBIs (22) this season is junior Grace Harvey. Not far behind is rookie Harlie Bickett, who's batting .279 and leads the team in hits (34).
• Senior Kinzi Van Wyk sports a team-best 3.59 ERA in 95.2 innings pitched this season. She has a 5-12 record in the circle. The Leopards own a team ERA of 4.45.
Series History with the Leopards
• Bucknell is 87-40-1 in the all-time series with Lafayette, which dates back to 1979. The Bison have won 19 in a row in the series, and Lafayette's last win came in 2014.
• Bucknell outscored the Leopards 38-19 in four games last spring, and six Bison hit .400 or better. Rivait went 8-for-16 with a double, two home runs and 10 RBIs. Toomey earned two of the four wins in the series, allowing six hits in eight innings.
