BALTIMORE, Md. – Livy Rosenzweig tallied two goals and six assists, and three other Loyola players recorded hat tricks as the seventh-ranked Greyhounds defeated Bucknell 21-2 on Wednesday night at Ridley Athletic Complex. Allie Boyce scored her team-leading 33rd goal for the Bison, who are still in a top-six position in the Patriot League heading into a big Senior Day home game against Boston University on Saturday.
Loyola won its 64th straight Patriot League game, extending its NCAA record for consecutive conference wins, and improved to 14-1 overall and 7-0 in league play. Navy also moved to 7-0 with a win over American on Wednesday. Lehigh skipped past Bucknell into a tie for fourth place with American at 3-3, and the Bison and Colgate are tied for sixth at 3-4. Bucknell has a head-to-head win over Colgate and currently owns the sixth and final Patriot League Tournament spot with two regular-season games remaining.
After the Greyhounds scored the game's first two goals in the opening 2:08, Boyce made it a 2-1 game with a shot that caught a piece of goalie Kaitlyn Larsson and trickled across the goal line. In the second quarter, Taylor Kopan added her 17th goal of the season off a feed from Tatumn Kohlbrenner, but the Greyhounds were in control for the bulk of the contest.
Loyola led 11-2 at the half and then scored all 10 of the second-half goals. Both teams struggled with turnovers, as Bucknell had 22 and Loyola 17, but the Greyhounds were able to capitalize on their takeaways. The Bison came in clearing at a 90-percent rate on the season but were held to 11-for-19 in this one.
Loyola outshot Bucknell 36-9 and held a 21-5 advantage in draw controls. Rosenzweig led all players with nine draw controls, and she also became the sixth player in NCAA history to reach 400 career points.
Caitlin Tucker made five saves in goal for Bucknell, and Symone Ryans stopped three shots in relief.
Bucknell and Boston University square off at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Graham Field. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
