Bucknell's Davis Matches PL Record with Fifth Rookie of Week Nod

Davis ties fellow Bison Charlie Streep's standard, set in 2009
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bucknell's Connor Davis matched the Patriot League record by earning his fifth GEICO Rookie of the Week award, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Davis was honored for logging four points on a hat trick and a helper during the Bison men's lacrosse team's game at then No. 17/16 Boston University. He factored into four of Bucknell's seven goals against a Terrier team that entered their contest ranked second in the NCAA in scoring defense (7.75).
Davis's previous Patriot League Rookie of the Week nods came on Feb. 7, Feb. 14, Feb. 21 and Mar. 7. He tied fellow Bison Charlie Streep's overall record, set with five in 2009, and earlier became the first player to earn this honor three weeks in a row. Notably, he has captured five of the six Patriot League Rookie of the Week awards presented so far this season.
Davis, who last week became the first freshman to be added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, has 28 goals on the season. He is just 10 away from cracking the Bison's single-season top-10 list with eight games remaining in the regular season.
Davis is currently the NCAA leader with an average of 4.67 goals per game. Notably, he is the lone freshman to be ranked in the NCAA's top 10. He is also the only freshman in the NCAA's top 35 in points per game, standing 14th with an average of 5.00.
Davis and the Bison are in action tomorrow, hosting Penn State for a 4 p.m. game. They then travel to No. -/20 Loyola (Md) for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday.
