Bucknell at a Glance
- Bucknell's difficult spring schedule continues on Sunday with a dual match against 2-0 Drexel. The Bison have already faced James Madison, No. 13 North Carolina, Toledo, and Michigan State on the road.
- Despite two losses in East Lansing last Saturday, the Bison had some strong performances. Michael Owen and Tim Zelikovsky both won exciting three-setters at second and third singles against Toledo, while Nick Mueller extended the Rockets' top player to a third set at No. 1.
- Later in the evening, Owen and Mueller beat Michigan State's No. 1 doubles team of Jarreau Campbell and Nick Williams, 6-3.
- On Tuesday, Owen was named the Patriot League Player of the Week in recognition of his wins against Toledo and Michigan State.
- The Bison competed in four fall tournaments, including their own annual event to get the season started. Bucknell also visited Bloomsburg, Binghamton, and Richmond.
- Mueller enjoyed a terrific fall campaign, posting a team-best 8-1 record. Seven of those wins came in straight sets, and his only loss came in the final at the River City Open at Richmond. Mueller was also Bucknell's top doubles player last spring, going 7-4 in duals.
- Zelikovsky, a sophomore, and freshman Nicolas Gruning both posted 6-3 records in the fall. Gruning won the first three, and six of the first seven, matches of his career.
- The Dragons are off to a 2-0 start with a 5-2 win over Buffalo on Jan. 15 and a 4-3 win at Brown on Jan. 22. Drexel hosts NJIT on Saturday before Bucknell comes in on Sunday.
- Matvey Radionov was named the CAA Player of the Week on Jan. 26. Radionov secured the match-clinching singles victories in both of Drexel's team wins.
- Radionov and Alan Jesudason both have team-best 8-4 records, including fall tournament action.
- The Bison head to Upstate New York for a pair of matches next week. Bucknell visits Siena on Friday evening, then travels to Marist for a Saturday evening dual.
