LEWISBURG, Pa. – More academic honors poured in for the Bucknell men's tennis team on Monday, as the Bison were cited by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as an All-Academic Team, and Will Robinson and Adam Stavrakas were cited as ITA Scholar-Athletes.
The men's tennis squad combined for a 3.44 team grade-point average in the spring semester, and the Bison were one of 162 men's tennis programs to be awarded the All-Academic Team distinction. Teams must have a 3.20 GPA or above to earn the distinction.
In order to qualify as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must earn a GPA of 3.50 or better over the academic year. This is not the first scholar-athlete honor for Robinson or Stavrakas, who were both mainstays in the Bucknell lineup all season. Robinson was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, while Stavrakas was part of the Academic All-Patriot League Team.
Robinson was a consistent performer in the bottom half of the lineup this season. He went 13-7 in dual matches, including a 4-0 mark in the No. 4 spot, and 14-13 overall. In the Patriot League Tournament, he won 6-0, 6-1 against Boston University in the quarterfinals and was up 6-2, 5-4 when the match was clinched against Lehigh in the semis.
Stavrakas was a First Team All-Patriot League selection in 2025 and was named PL Tournament MVP after helping Bucknell win its first conference title since 1991. The Athens, Greece native was slowed by injury this past spring and finished with a 14-10 singles record after going 35-3 as a junior.
Despite missing some time during both his freshman and senior seasons, Stavrakas graduated with the fourth-most singles wins (76) and 10th-most combined wins (132) in team history. His .760 career singles winning percentage (76-24) also ranks 10th all-time. Stavrakas will be using his final year of tennis eligibility as a graduate student at Johns Hopkins next season.
