About the Bison
• Bucknell placed third at its most recent Patriot League Championships during the 2021 outdoor season and was fifth in the 2020 indoor championships. Navy took first at both meets.
• Bucknell returns several athletes that excelled in the 2020 indoor championships, including senior Ashlyn Ramos. Ramos placed fourth in the 3000 and was sixth in the 5000. She's only improved since, and she broke the school indoor record in the 5k just a few weeks back with a 16:39.00. Ramos also won gold in the 10k and silver in the 5k at last spring's outdoor meet.
• Another distance runner, Karly Forker, placed third in the mile prelims in 2020 but did not finish in the finals. She was also part of Bucknell's third-place distance medley relay team at the last indoor championships, as was then-sophomore Michaela Bracken. Bracken began this indoor season with a school record-breaking performance in the pentathlon (3,538).
• Along with the DMR, Bucknell's 4x400 relay team impressed with a fourth-place finish in 2020. Jessie Castellano and Bridget Lalonde return from that unit.
• Another sprinter to watch is sophomore Meghan Quinn, who shined in the outdoor championships last spring as a silver medalist in the 100, as well as earning fourth-place finishes as part of the Bison's 200 and 4x400 team. This season, Quinn ran the third-fastest time in school history in the 60m (7.73) and will look to grab points in a host of events.
• Sophomore Karen Hull scored in the hurdles in the spring and has had a fantastic indoor season, entering Bucknell's top 10 in the 60m hurdles and the high jump. Last weekend, Hull ran the second-fastest 60 hurdles time in school history with an 8.75.
• Gianna Macones took fourth in the long jump in 2020 and just missed out on points with a ninth-place finish in triple jump. The senior holds several spots Bucknell's all-time top 10 list, and this season alone she entered the top 10 in the 60m and the triple jump. Macones placed in the top five in three events in the 2021 outdoor championships, including third-place finishes in the long jump and the 4x100.
• Bucknell has a chance to medal in several field events this weekend. Along with Macones, junior Lexi Gray has posted strong marks in the triple jump this indoor season and picked up a win in the event at the Bison Open & Multi meet.
• Sophomore Abby Kates joined Hull on the all-time top list in high jump this season after securing the runner-up spot as a first year in the 2021 outdoor championships.
• Bucknell also has depth at both shot put and pole vault. Sophomore Siobhan O'Sullivan has made a massive leap from year one to year two, and she ranks eighth on Bucknell's top 10 list with her 45-11.25 shot put mark that earned her second place at the Bison Open in January. Senior Abby Whitaker placed 10th at the 2020 championships.
• Bucknell pole vaulters Jennifer Scott and Karly Renn could both earn points for the Bison this weekend, and both entered the all-time top 10 this indoor season. Renn, who was named Patriot League Track & Field Rookie of the Week on Monday, tied for the second-best mark in school history (12-3.5) over the weekend. Scott placed eighth at the outdoor championships and is tied for sixth on the top 10 list.
• The Bison won the Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships the last time they hosted in 2018. They've captured the title 18 times in program history.
