- Bucknell and Radford were scheduled to meet last season to open the year for a three-game series, but had the games canceled. The two teams last met in 2019, with Radford taking both games in Spartanburg, S.C.
- Chris Cannizzaro is Bucknell's lone player to appear in both games, managing two hits and a run scored. Brendan Lowery and Austin Odell also made appearances for the Bison in the first matchup.
- Lowery and Cannizzaro both started the season strongly, hitting home runs in the first game of the season against Ball State. The home run for the former was the first of his career. Cannizzaro's home run was the fifth of his career, and one of his three hits overall.
- Three Bison managed three hits on the weekend including Cannizzaro in Lowery and Kendall Pierson, while sophomore Jacob Corson put together a nice weekend, managing four hits through three games. Corson scored two runs and managed a double while drawing two walks in a solid opening weekend for the Orange and Blue.
- Bucknell out-hit its opponent in two of its three game over the weekend, compiling 22 hits overall through three games.
- Bucknell also had several solid pitching outings, as starters Will Greer and Austin Odell each posted good debuts over the weekend. Greer went seven innings, allowing just three hits and no earned runs while striking out seven while Odell pitched five solid innings, striking out five and scattering six hits against a power-five opponent.
- Greer's seven innings of work marks the sixth time in his career he has managed to last at least six innings or more in a start, with the highlight of that longevity coming last season against Lehigh in a nine-inning, complete game win over Lehigh on April 24. Greer became the first Bison to pitch a nine-inning complete game since Connor Van Hoose tossed a complete game win against Army in the Patriot League Semifinal Series on May 12, 2018.
- Five newcomers made their debut for the Bison over the weekend. Tyler O'Neill, Brady Swenson, Ben Magovern, Sean Keys, and Tyler Dunn all made their first appearances for the Bison.
- Dunn picked up his first career hit in his first career at-bat, knocking an RBI single in the eighth that plated Pierson.
- Bucknell's last win in Virginia was a historic one, when the Bison toppled UVA in Charlottesville, taking a 14-10 win.
- After this weekend's series at Radford, the Bison continue their challenging opening slate with a three-game trip to Durham to take on Duke. The Bison last met the Blue Devils in 2018, with Duke taking all three matchups.
