Men's Tennis Drops Tight 4-3 Decision to Saint Joseph's

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Bucknell men's tennis team fell 4-3 to Saint Joseph's in an evenly matched affair on Saturday afternoon at the Central PA Tennis Center. The teams split the six singles matches, four of which went to three sets, but the difference was the Hawks claiming the doubles point to start the day.
Tim Zelikovsky won twice for the Bison to continue his strong spring season. He teamed up with Harrison Gold to beat Nathan Perrone and Eshan Kanetkar in a tiebreaker at No. 1 doubles. Zelikovsky returned later to defeat Kanetkar 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Those were Zelikovsky's third straight wins in both singles and doubles.
Nick Mueller and Michael Owen also won singles matches for Bucknell. Mueller spotted Nickolas Frisk the first set on Court 2, then evened things up with a 6-2 verdict in the second set. Mueller finished it off by outlasting Frisk 9-7 in a third-set tiebreak, giving him his team-best 11th singles win of the 2021-22 season.
Owen was up 2-0 in the third set on Alp Dentay at No. 3 singles. Dentay defaulted once Saint Joseph's had clinched the team victory.
The Bison are back in action at the Central PA Tennis Center next Saturday, hosting Saint Francis (Pa.) at 2 p.m.

Doubles
