About Bucknell
- The single-day Bucknell Tune Up begins with field events at 5 p.m. on Friday, and the 4x400 is scheduled to begin at 9:20 p.m.
- The Bison have put together a stellar indoor season thus far, winning its only scored meet of the season and seeing dozens of athletes grab first-place finishes and enter the all-time top 10 lists. In its most recent weekend, Bucknell had athletes crack the top 10 in five different events.
- Senior Ashlyn Ramos, who owns spots on five different top 10 lists between indoor and outdoor, set the second school record of her career in the 5000 on Friday. Ramos ran a 16:39.00 at the David Hemery Valentine Invite at Boston University to eclipse the previous record set in 2016.
- Sophomore Karen Hull entered the all-time top 10 in high jump and moved up from ninth to sixth in the 60m hurdles. Her 5-5 mark in the high jump tied for seventh in school history and was good enough for first place at the VMI Invite. She posted an impressive 8.94 in the hurdles.
- Two other Bison shined in field events at VMI. Jennifer Scott moved up on the top 10 list in pole vault with an 11-11.75, and Gianna Macones landed seventh on the triple jump list with a 38-11.25.
- Bucknell won three other individual events last weekend. Mia Bellucci took first in the 5000 at VMI (18:05.48), Lauren Trapani won the 3000 (10:15.94), and Karly Forker placed first in the 800 (2:17.28).
- The Bison also placed first in three relay events. The 4x400 team (Bracken, Lalonde, Horvath, Castellano) took first with an ECAC qualifying time of 3:50.59, the 4x800 team (Turner, Paczewski, Engelby, Tabar) grabbed a win with a 9:39.58, and Bucknell's distance medley relay team (Lyons, Loew, Forker, Kubunski) earned first place as well with a 12:31.48.
- Anna Posh was named the Patriot League Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Week on Tuesday after placing second among 47 finishers in the 800 (2:17.98). She was also part of Bucknell's second-place DMR team. Posh is the first Bucknell track & field athlete to earn a Patriot League weekly award this season.
Coach Donner's Take
"The Bucknell Tune Up is exactly that. A tune-up. We have a lot of different missions for this meet depending on the individual. We are holding some people out to train and rest up for leagues. Others are competing to fine-tune themselves a little. Others are trying to prove themselves so they can put themselves in position to make our league lineup next week, and others will be competing on their last indoor meet of the season and want to end indoors on a high note."
