"I was very pleased with how both genders competed today," said head coach Kevin Donner. "They won decisive wins over a very good program. We had a long layoff and reloaded with our training the past three weeks and our early season marks in all event areas are as good as ever. I believe we are set up nicely for a very successful outdoor season. We have a strong schedule over the next four weeks in which we should see our marks improve quite a bit."
The throws group won three of four events. Freshman Julia Sobilo headlined in her outdoor debut. The rookie won the discus throw with a toss of 48.49m (159-1), which arrived during her fifth attempt. The mark moved her into third at Bucknell.Â
Avery Rebar earned the victory in the shot put, throwing 12.40m (40-8.25). Melissa Viellette unlocked the triumph in the javelin throw, tossing 36.11m (118-5). Isabelle Roes placed second in the hammer throw, registering 41.82m (137-2).Â
