Bucknell at a Glance
- Bucknell puts a two-match winning streak on the line on Saturday when Saint Joseph's comes in for the 2022 home opener. The match will be played indoors at the Central PA Tennis Center in South Williamsport.
- The Bison played their first seven dual matches of the spring on the road, and they are coming off a banner weekend with victories over MAAC foes Siena and Marist.
- The Siena match was a nailbiter, with Tim Zelikovsky clinching a 4-3 verdict with his win at No. 4 singles, which was the last match on the courts. The Saints won the doubles point, but a straight-set singles win from Harrison Gold at No. 1, followed by three-set wins from Nick Mueller at No. 2, Ink Chen at No. 5, and Zelikovsky at No. 4 capped the Bison rally.
- Bucknell was dominant against Marist, sweeping the three doubles matches and then winning all six singles tilts for a 7-0 result. The Bison dropped only one set in singles, with Gold coming from a set down to win at No. 1.
- Freshman Nicolas Grunig picked up his first career dual-match singles win with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 verdict at No. 6 against Marist.
- Gold and Zelikovsky both had 4-0 weekends. They teamed for two wins at No. 1 doubles and also won both of their singles matches.
- Zelikovsky has a team-best three singles wins this spring. Including the fall tournament season, Mueller (10) and Zelikovsky (9) lead the way.
