Bucknell Men's Lacrosse Hosts St. John's for Home Opener

Bucknell at a Glance
• The Bison are currently 2-0 (0-0 PL) following their 14-12 victory over Robert Morris on Feb. 12.
• During the abbreviated 2021 season, Bucknell posted a 2-6 (1-5 PL) record, missing the Patriot League Tournament for only the third time since 2005.
• In 2020, the Bison went 5-1 (0-0 PL). The week their season was canceled due to the COVID-19 public health threat, they were ranked 20th in the USILA Coaches' Poll.
• In 2019, Bucknell logged a 6-9 (4-4 PL) record. The Bison closed the regular season on a four-game winning streak and earned their 13th Patriot League Tournament berth in 15 seasons.

• The Bison brought back senior attackman Alston Tarry, who led the team in assists in both 2021 (11) and 2020 (14).
• Bucknell also returned junior short-stick defensive midfielder Danny Striano, who paced the team in ground balls (30) a season ago. Striano is a critical faceoff wing for the Bison.
• Talarico, Wellford, senior offensive midfielder Matthew Barkauskas and senior faceoff specialist Nick Crovatto are serving as team captains this year.
• Frank Fedorjaka is in his 17th season as Bucknell's head coach and 22nd campaign as a collegiate head coach. He is just the second head coach in Bison men's lacrosse history.

Inside the Robert Morris Box Score
• Bucknell edged Robert Morris, 14-12, on Feb. 12 to remain unbeaten on the young 2022 campaign.
• The Bison had five players register at least three points en route to their victory over the Colonials. In addition, while clinging to a one-strike lead, they held Robert Morris without a goal for the final 13:56 of the game.
• Connor Davis followed up his record six-goal debut with a team-best five-point performance (4g-1a). His fellow freshman, Cam Doolan, recorded his first three collegiate goals a week after registering five assists at Mercer.
• Alston Tarry (2g-2a), Dutch Furlong (2g-1a) and Danny Striano (1g-2a) rounded out the group of Bison who notched at least three points, with Furlong netting what proved to be the game-winning goal with eight seconds remaining in the third quarter.
• Travis Talarico led Bucknell in ground balls (5) and caused turnovers (2). Nick Crovatto and Conor McCusker again split time in the faceoff x, combining for 12 wins. Crovatto also scored his first career goal off of a faceoff win at the first quarter's 4:47 mark.
• The Colonials came out of halftime by tallying four of the third quarter's first five goals, which evened the score at 11-11. Davis and Furlong each found the back of the net in the final two minutes of the frame to give the Bison back their lead, at 13-11. Striano's older brother, Richie, notched the insurance tally with 3:19 left in the fourth.
• Robert Morris held advantages in shots (43-39), ground balls (25-22) and faceoffs (16-14) while Bucknell led in shots on goal (26-20) and caused turnovers (9-8).
• On the strength of his performance, Davis captured his second-straight Patriot League Rookie of the Week nod. He became the second Bison to earn this award in consecutive weeks, joining Charlie Streep (2009).
