- Bucknell, now 2-1 on the season, will enjoy the benefits of a week's rest after taking last weekend off from competition.
- Bucknell opened the Bucknell Invite at home with a pair of wins, defeating La Salle, 10-9, before topping St. Francis Brooklyn 12-10 that same day. The Bison faced a stern test in No. 14 Wagner to close the Invite, falling 15-3.
- Several Bison first-years scored their first career goals last weekend, with Ali Jackson, Izzy Lippolis, and Boati Motau each finding the back of the cage for the first time in their young careers. Jackson's goal proved pivotal in the win over La Salle, giving Bucknell a 9-8 lead with 2:58 to go against the Explorers.
- Bucknell last attended the Princeton Invite in 2018, going 0-2 against Marist and Wagner. The Bison also dropped a narrow exhibition decision to the Chinese National Team to close the Tournament, 10-7.
- Bucknell has done a tremendous job of winning the close games, owning a 9-3 record in games decided by three goals or less dating back to the 2020 season. The two wins for the Bison were decided by three goals combined on Saturday.
- Iona is 2-3 to start the season, having won its last two games against Ottawa Arizona and Villanova.
- Bucknell will then face its first two conference challenges in Saint Francis (Pa.) and Princeton. Bucknell is 11-0 in the all-time series against the Red Flash, and just 6-42 against the Tigers all time.
- The Bison defeated Saint Francis in all three matchups last season, including a CWPA semifinal matchup, an 8-5 victory to reach their first-ever CWPA Championship game.
- Bucknell faced Princeton twice in 2019, falling 10-5 in the final game of the regular season before dropping an 11-5 decision in the CWPA semifinals. The Bison rebounded from that defeat to take down No. 16 Harvard, earning their highest-ever finish (3rd) at the CWPA Championships at the time.
- Bucknell will end the tournament bright and early on Sunday morning with an 8 p.m. tilt against VMI. Bucknell is 4-0 in the all-time series between the two teams, having last met on February 17, 2019. The Bison took home a 19-5 win in that game, with Paige Furano providing four assists as the only active Bison to appear in that game.
- Bucknell will have another week off from competition after the weekend before returning home for four league games from February 26-27. Bucknell's matchup against Brown on Saturday, February 26 is scheduled for Senior Day for seniors Furano and Larissa Hodzic.
