LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell women's track & field finished Day Two of the Bison Opener with several participants qualifying for the ECAC Championships.
In the 60m dash, Meghan Quinn earned ECAC qualification with a time of 7.66. The time is also third all-time in the Bucknell lists.
"I was very pleased with the results of both men's and women's teams. When evaluating a meet, I like to compare where we were one year ago today in all the event categories. When doing that, we are much better than we were a year ago in just about every event and that is great progress. For various reasons, we were missing some of our best athletes today and when they are ready in January, we will have much better depth. We had numerous personal best marks today as well as ECAC/IC4A qualifiers. I was also very happy with the team vibe and the electricity in the air that was being generated. I believe that it is a big part of our program and it will continue to motivate our athletes to keep working hard and improving. The immediate future looks promising," said head coach Kevin Donner.Â
Mikayla Horvath finished first (26.54) in the Section Nine of the 200m dash.
For the 300m dash, Bridget Lalonde finished with the best time (41.59) of all the four sections.
Katherine Loew had the fastest time (59.33) of all Bucknell runners for the 400m dash.
In the 500m run, Jessie Castellano earned the quickest mark (1:20.06) of all Bison runners.
Mackenzie Turner obtained a time of 2:21.36 in the 800m run to lead all Orange & Blue athletes.
Hollie Walters led all runners for the mile run with a pace of 5:09.48.
Mia Bellucci won the 3000m run with a time of 10:05.79.
Karen Hull won the 60m hurdle and earned ECAC qualification with a time of 8.76. That time is third best in Bucknell history and 0.02 seconds away from the second-place mark set by Hull in last year's campaign.
The Bucknell "A" team raced to a time of 4.11.47 good enough for second place in Section Two.
Karen Hull leaped to a mark of 1.70m/5-07.00 in the high jump to win bronze and qualify for the ECAC Championships. Her jump is now tied for fourth place all-time.
Jennifer Scott qualified for the ECAC Championships and placed second with a mark of 3.66m/12-00.00 in the pole vault. The result equals seventh all-time in Bucknell history.
