
Men's Swim & Dive Moves Up to Win 2022 Bucknell Invitational Sunday

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's swim & dive team overtook Delaware with two first-place finishes and 12 top-8 finishes overall on Sunday at Kinney Natatorium to win the 2022 Bucknell Invitational. The Bison totaled 1,346.5 points over the three-day event.

Delaware, which led after Friday and Saturday's events, finished second with 1,332 points. The Bison sealed the win Sunday evening with a first-place finish by the 400 freestyle relay team (John Gehrig, Justin DiSanto, Chris Fabian, Leo Kuyl), which registered the program's second-fastest time ever at 2:57.27. It was one of four events where Bucknell posted program top-10 times on Sunday.
Gehrig was also a 200 butterfly champion (1:46.38) on Sunday as Bucknell totaled six event wins overall throughout the weekend, five of which the junior was a part of. It was a particularly strong day for the Bison in the 200 butterfly with Shane Wynne adding a fourth-place finish and Andy Dorsel grabbing fifth. Wynne's 1:48.33 placed him fourth on the program's top-10 list.
Braden Beagle and Justin DiSanto also added program top-10 finishes in the 200 backstroke and 100 freestyle, respectively.
Along with his contribution to the winning 400 freestyle relay, Leo Kuyl grabbed a runner-up finish in the 100 freestyle.
Chris Kopac (1650 freestyle) and DiSanto (100 freestyle) added third-place finishes for the Bison as well on Sunday.
