
Swim & Dive Hosts Army Saturday in First Meet of the New Year

Bucknell Women at a Glance
• Bucknell is 5-1 (4-1 PL) on the season with its only loss coming against Navy back on Nov. 5. The Bison have wins over Boston U., Loyola, Binghamton, American and Lafayette.
• Bucknell will take on Army in its first competition since several Bison were sent to the U.S. Open in early December. It's the team's first dual meet since facing Lafayette on Nov. 5.
• Bucknell is 35-4 (27-4 PL) in dual meets dating back to the 2018-19 season. All four losses over that stretch have been to Navy.
• The Bison posted a 9-1 (7-1 PL) record during the 2021-22 season. They finished second at the 2022 Patriot League Championships, winning 10 medals and collecting 577.5 points. Bucknell also took second at the precious championships in 2019-20 and have now been the runner-up 13 times in program history.
• Bucknell returned five of its six All-Patriot League honorees: Catherine Craig (1st in 2022, 2nd in 2020), Abby Doss (1st in 2022), Sabrina Vumbacco (1st in 2022, 2nd in 2020), Sophia Donati (2nd in 2022), Esme Hunter (2nd in 2022).
• Craig, Doss and Vumbacco are Bucknell's three returning First Team All-Leaguers.
• Bucknell added seven student-athletes to its program ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. The newcomers hail from seven different states: California, Connecticut, Maryland, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Bucknell Men at a Glance
• Bucknell is 5-1 (4-1 PL) this season and suffered its only loss to Navy on Nov. 5. The Bison have dual victories over Loyola, Binghamton, American and Lafayette.
• Saturday's home meet against Army will be Bucknell's first competition since several Bison attended the U.S. Open in early December. Bucknell's last dual meet was a 234.5-63.5 victory over Lafayette.
• Bucknell is 12-4 (10-3 PL) in dual meets since the start of last season.

• Bucknell finished 7-3 (6-2 PL) during the 2022 campaign. It was the team's best record in dual meet competition since the 2013-14 season. The Bison took third at the 2022 Patriot League Championships with 559.5 points, which were the most they've collected since 2012. The team broke a staggering 11 school records, helping head coach Dan Schinnerer earn his third-career Patriot League Men's Coach of the Year nod.
• Bucknell returned six of its eight 2022 All-Patriot League honorees, including all four First Teamers: Andy Dorsel (1st in 2022), Chris Fabian (1st in 2022), Gehrig (1st in 2022), Chris Kopac (1st in 2022), Justin DiSanto (2nd in 2022), Leo Kuyl (2nd in 2022).
• The Bison welcomed 11 newcomers to the program ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. They hail from eight different states: California, Connecticut (2), Florida, Maryland, New York (2), Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.
Army West Point Women at a Glance
• Army's women's team is 2-5 (0-1 PL) with wins over Seton Hall and Boston College. Last time out, the Black Knights fell to both Miami and Northwestern on Dec. 17.
• The Black Knights went 4-6 (1-2 PL) in the 2021-22 season and placed third at the 2022 Patriot League Championships with 570 points.
• Army returns five All-Patriot League honorees from last season: Meghan Cole (1st Team), Minh Donnell (2nd Team), Aurelie Migault (2nd Team), Clara Williams (2nd Team) and Melinda Zhang (2nd Team).
• Bucknell is 22-7 all-time against Army, and the Bison have claimed each of the last four meetings dating back to 2019.
• The Bison claimed a 183-117 win at Kinney Natatorium on Jan. 15 last season. Bucknell claimed wins in nine individual events and one relay.
Army West Point Men at a Glance
• Army's men's team is 5-2 (1-0 PL) following its loss to Northwestern on Dec. 17. The Black Knights' lone Patriot League victory was over Navy on Dec. 2.
• Army finished the 2021-22 season 6-3 (2-1 PL) and placed second out of 10 at the 2022 Patriot League Championships, scoring 740.5 points.
• The Black Knights returned nine All-Patriot League honorees from last season: Owen Harlow (1st Team), Ian Tansill (1st Team), Sam Wesley (1st Team), Evan Yoo (1st Team), Bruce Bannister Jr. (2nd Team), Sean Dwyer (2nd Team), David Manelis (2nd Team), Isaac Newman (2nd Team) and Wes Tate (2nd Team). Additionally, Army had the Diver of the Meet and the Diving Coach of the Year at last season's championships.
• Army leads the all-time series 31-5 against Bucknell and has claimed each of the last 10 meetings. Bucknell last defeated the Black Knights in 2012.
• Army came out on top 206-92 in last year's meeting in Lewisburg. Bucknell picked up one first-place finish in the 100 butterfly.
A Look Ahead
• Bucknell is back home next weekend to host Lehigh at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21. It's Bucknell's last dual meet of the season.
