
Men's Swim & Dive in Second Through First Day of Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's swim & dive team wrapped up its first day of the 2022 Bucknell Invitational and is currently second in the field of eight with 383.5 points. The Bison trail only Delaware (392).
The Bison logged two new program top-10 times, including a record-breaking performance in the 200 freestyle relay. Justin DiSanto, Leo Kuyl, John Gehrig and Chris Fabian were all part of the relay team that edged last year's Patriot League Championship time with a 1:19.46 to finish first in the event at Friday's meet.
Fabian, Gehrig and Kuyl were also part of Bucknell's 400 medley relay team that took second on Saturday with a 3:16.71, which ranks third in the school record book. Adding to a big day, Gehrig collected a first-place finish in the 200 IM with a 1:47.69.
Bucknell's other runner-up finish came from Kuyl in the 50 freestyle as the senior clocked a 20.02. He was joined in the top eight in the event by teammate Justin DiSanto, who took sixth with a 20.51.
The Bison added a pair of top finishes in the 500 freestyle as Chris Kopac grabbed third and Alex Crossing finished fifth. Andy Dorsel swam to a fourth-place finish in the 200 IM, and Shane Wynne took seventh in the event.
Bucknell's final top-eight finisher was Nick Pirone, who grabbed points for the team in the 3-meter dive (187.20)
The Bucknell Invitational resumes Saturday morning at Kinney Natatorium.
