Bucknell at a Glance
- Four Bison head to Richmond this weekend for the River City Tennis Open. Freshman Oscar Bain Moreno de Vega will be making his Bucknell debut, and he will be joined by Harrison Gold, Michael Owen, and Amar Tahirovic.
- Sixteen teams will be in Richmond for the event, and the Bison quartet will be taking on players from Delaware in Friday's segment.
- This is Bucknell's fourth tournament of the fall, following the Bucknell Invitational, the Villanova Invitational, and The Haggerty Championships at Binghamton.
- Gold, Bucknell's No. 1 player and a First Team All-Patriot League selection last season, saw his first action of the season at Binghamton after missing the first two tournaments with an injury. He won his first two singles matches before falling in the flight final, and he also went 2-1 in doubles with Brendan McDonald.
- Tahirovic is off to a strong start to his career with a 6-1 singles record. His only loss was a three-setter in a flight final at Bucknell's home tournament. This will be his first action since Sept. 11 at Villanova.
- Owen is 4-3 in singles and 4-5 in doubles this season.
- McDonald has the weekend off but is also off to a good start in his rookie campaign. He is 6-3 in singles and 8-1 in doubles, including a perfect 6-0 record with Nick Mueller.
- Bucknell this season welcomed a highly acclaimed recruiting class. The group was ranked 27th among all Division I programs and sixth among Mid-Major programs by tennisrecruiting.net.
