About the Bison
• Bucknell sees two more Patriot League foes this weekend as Loyola and Navy each pay a visit to Lewisburg. Weather permitting, the Bison are looking to play their first matches at the Varsity Tennis Courts on campus since 2019.
• Bucknell started off league play on a high note last weekend by winning 4-1 on the road at Colgate. The Bison lost the doubles point after picking up just one win, but rebounded and grabbed four straight singles points to improve to 2-5 on the season.
• Sophomore Nick Mueller was an honorable mention for Player of the Week this week after earning victories in both singles and doubles. Mueller has won three of his last four in singles and sports a team-best 5-2 record.
• Fellow sophomore Michael Owen was also a winner at No. 2 singles on Saturday. Owen has three singles wins on the season, two of which came at No. 1.
• Junior Cooper Bradshaw and rookie Tim Zelikovsky both earned their second singles wins of the season.
• Collecting Bucknell's doubles win were Marwan Abaza and Mueller. The pair won 7-5 and are now 2-2 as a tandem this spring.
Scouting the Midshipmen/Series History
• The Midshipmen are off to a solid 4-0 start, including two Patriot League victories. The Mids most recently beat Loyola 7-0 and took down Lehigh 5-2.
• Senior Andrew Ton has won all four matches he's played at the No. 1 singles spot and was named the Men's Player of the Week this week.
• Navy has lost just one doubles match this spring, while Sasha Panyan and Ton are 4-0 together in the No. 1 spot.
Scouting the Greyhounds/Series History
• The Greyhounds have won just one of their first seven matches, defeating Rider 4-3 on April 5. Loyola lost 7-0 to both Lehigh and Navy.
• Junior Edik Pribitkin has played the majority of matches at No. 1 singles and is 1-6. Meanwhile, rookie Matt Cardano has the best record at 4-1, playing every match at No. 3.
• Bucknell and Loyola last went to battle on April 7, 2019, with the Bison winning 6-1 on the road.
Up Next
• Bucknell plays its final two matches of the regular season against Lafayette and Lehigh. The team travels to Lafayette for a 4 p.m. match on Friday, April 16, then hosts the Mountain Hawks for the regular season finale on Saturday, April 17.
