Women's Track and Field Set for Home Meet Against Lehigh and Army

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Â The Bucknell University women's track and field team will host Army and Lehigh on Sunday, April 11 for its second home meet in three weeks. Â The Bison will also host a distance carnival later in the evening consisting of several other Patriot League schools. Â

- Bucknell is coming off a solid showing in difficult conditions at the Happy Easter Races hosted by Lehigh last weekend.
- The Bison won the team title, scoring 224.5 points to outpace host Lehigh (153) to earn the team title. Â Â
- Although the Bison competed in adverse conditions, Bucknell managed to still post some impressive marks. Â
- Ashlyn Ramos picked up where she left off after earning the individual title at the Patriot League Cross Country Championships, easily taking first in the 5000. Â Ramos moved into the fourth spot on Bucknell's all-time list in the process (16:42.82). Â
- Also earning a place in Bucknell's top ten over the weekend was Nora Bennett, who won the 3000m steeplechase (11:04.24) in her first time competing in the event since April of 2019. Â Bennett has set personal bests in the 1500 and the steeplechase this season so far. Â
- Madison McGloin had another impressive week for the Bison in winning the hammer throw. Â McGloin ranks third in the Patriot League in the event (171-8), and has set personal bests in back-to-back weeks. Â The first year has also improved in all three meets this season. Â Â
- Alex Butz has also continued her impressive start to the season in winning the pole vault and the high jump last weekend. Â Butz set a personal best in the pole vault that ranks second all-time in the opening weekend at Virginia (12-5.5), and has also won the pole vault in back-to-back weeks. Â The native of Parkton, Md. also won the high jump on Saturday (5-5), clearing the mark for the second straight week. Â
- Maura Fiamoncini provided a strong performance at home in the javelin two weeks ago, winning Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week honors (174-0). Â
- Karen Hull is another first year who had a solid meet for the Bison the last time out at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium, in which the native of Randolph, N.J. won the 100m hurdles while placing in the high jump and anchoring the 4x100 relay squad.Â
