About the Bison
- Bucknell will be looking to get back to winning ways after dropping four games at Holy Cross over the weekend.
- There were a few bright spots over the weekend however, including the play of senior infielder Peter Marren.
- The native of Darien, Conn. led all Bison with seven hits through the four games, and was one of just two Bison along with Chris Cannizzaro to play and start all four games over the weekend. Marren went 7-for-14 (.500) from the plate, and added two walks while posting a clean fielding percentage over the weekend.
- Marren leads the team in average this season (.359), and ranks third in the Patriot League behind Eric Cichocki of Lehigh and Thomas Latham of Holy Cross while also leading the team in mult-hit games (7).
- Cannizzaro also makes an appearance in the Patriot League top 10 in average (.310).
- Eunsang Yu leads the squad in multiple RBI games with four this season. The sophomore from Seattle added two more RBIs over the weekend for ten this season, and has already surpassed his RBI total from his freshman season (6) in three less games played.
- The Bison dropped a pair of one-run games on Sunday to the Crusaders, but also had several solid pitching performances in the narrow defeats.
- First year Graeme Carroll was a bright spot in Sunday's 3-2, ten-inning defeat to Holy Cross. The native of Kinnelon, N.J. pitched 5.0 innings of shutout baseball in his longest appearance to date this season, keeping the Crusaders off the board while scattering four hits. Carroll posted three strikeouts, a season-best, and has now struck out at least one batter in three of his last four relief appearances.
- Chris Difiore also provided a solid outing in back-to-back appearances for the Bison after his earning the win against Navy on March 27. Difiore pitched six innings for the third consecutive outing, and struck out six batters on Sunday against Holy Cross in a 2-1 defeat. Neither of Difiore's runs were earned on Sunday, and the native of Mount Kisco, N.Y. has an ERA of 1.00 in his last 18 innings pitched.
- Bucknell will return to the friendly confines of Depew Field for two of its three games against Lehigh this weekend. Four of the five wins for the Bison this season have come at Depew Field, while the Bison are just 1-8 on the road this season. The lone win for Bucknell on the road came against the Mountain Hawks in Bethlehem, a 4-3 victory in which Will Greer pitched seven innings with eight strikeouts.
- Both Difiore (fourth, 2.42) and Greer (ninth, 3.58) rank in the top ten in the Patriot League in ERA this season.
- Lehigh is 9-7 this year, and will take on Lafayette on Wednesday in a game recently added to the schedule.
- The Mountain Hawks are 5-2 since the series with Bucknell, and lead the Patriot League in team ERA this season (3.26).
- Mason Black, the Patriot League Preseason Pitcher of the Year, continues to have a fine season for the Mountain Hawks, where he ranks second in the Patriot League in ERA (1.78).
- The Mountain Hawks also boast Cichocki, who leads the league in batting average (.397) in 15 games this season.
- Lehigh leads the South Division of the Patriot League standings with a 6-2 record in Patriot League games this season. Navy is 3-3 through six games, while the Bison are 5-9 in Patriot League play so far.
- The Bison will take on South Division Rival Navy for a three-game series beginning on April 17 with a doubleheader in Annapolis before hosting the Mids for one game on Sunday, April 18.
