LEWISBURG, Pa. – Colgate edged the Bucknell men's lacrosse team, 10-9, behind a last-second goal on Saturday at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
Mike Hawkins, who was out for most of the contest with injury, came from behind the net to score the game-winning goal with just 10 seconds remaining in regulation. Hawkins's strike came less than a minute after Tommy Sopko completed a hat trick to even the score at 9-9.
At halftime, the Raiders (2-4, 2-2 PL) held a slim 5-4 lead. The Bison (1-4, 0-3 PL) netted the second quarter's final two goals to draw within a single strike after falling in an early hole due to a 3-0 Colgate run.

But Brian Minicus found the back of the net nine seconds after Harry Wellford's go-ahead strike, evening the score at 8-8. Another Colgate goal with 3:43 remaining made it a 9-8 game, setting up the last-minute fireworks.
