Rowing Team Has Productive Day vs. West Virginia
3/28/2021 7:00:00 PM | Women's Rowing
SHAMOKIN DAM, Pa. -- The Bucknell rowing team hosted West Virginia for a scrimmage on the Susquehanna River on Saturday, and it was a productive early-season competition as the Bison faced an outside competitor for the first time this spring.
The scrimmage was 4x4' in the format of two sets of 2x4'. The first four-minute piece of each set simulated the first 1,000 meters of a 2K race, and the second four-minute piece of each set simulated the final 1,000 meters of a 2K race. As the team ramps up training in advance of the Patriot League Championships in mid-May, Saturday's event gave the Bison a taste of the 2K racing on the horizon.
Bucknell will face Patriot League rivals at home in each of the next two weeks. Lehigh comes in next Saturday, followed by Colgate on Apr. 10.
