Women's Track and Field Takes on Delaware and Virginia in Charlottesville

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University women's track and field team is set to open its 2021 outdoor season on Saturday against Delaware and Virginia at the UVA Opener.

- Bucknell finished fifth overall at the Patriot League Indoor Championships last season, and returns several scorers from last seasons' meet.
- The Bison are competing for the first time since competing at the ECAC Championships on March 8, 2020.
- Delia Sipe returns after breaking the school record in the shot put (48-6) indoors. Sipe finished second overall last season.
- Alexandra Butz returns after finishing runner-up in the high jump and sixth in the pole vault. Butz also earned Academic All-League accolades during the indoor season.
- Ashlyn Ramos, the Patriot League Cross Country individual champion, also returns for the Bison after placing sixth in the 5000 last season. Emily Deschler, who earned Second Team All-Patriot League honors, also scored in the event in finishing eighth.
- Gianna Macones posted a strong day in the long jump on day one, finishing fourth overall.
- Bucknell also returns Karly Forker, who finished as an All-East selection in the 1000 after finishing fifth.
- Bucknell returns several scorers from the last Patriot League Outdoor Championships in 2019.
- Maura Fiamoncini will look to pick up where she left off after having last competed for the Bison at the NCAA Championships, where she earned her second straight All-American accolade.
- In the high jump, school record holder Taylor O'Brien returns after finishing up the basketball season for the Orange and Blue.
- Tia Tardy placed second at the 2019 Championships in the 800 (2:10.21), which ranks fifth in the Bucknell record books.
- The Bison will host their first meet of the 2021 season when they host UMBC and Saint Francis (Pa.) for a tri-meet on Sunday, March 28.
