RESULTS
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Sahana Paravantavida fired a 2-over-par 74, a new career low in relation to par, to lead the Bucknell women's golf team in the final round of the Lady Blue Hen Invitational at Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
Â
In its final round of the fall season, Bucknell posted a 321 team score and finished Delaware's tournament in 12th place.
Â
Paravantavida was the story of the day for the Bison. She started on hole No. 13 and got out to a par-birdie start. When she made her third birdie of the day, this one at the par-5 ninth hole, she was 1-under with three holes to play. Three straight bogeys to finish left Paravantavida with her third career 74, with the other two coming on par-70 and 71 courses.
Â
In a field of 72 players, Paravantavida's 74 was tied for the third-best of the day. Chloe Royston of Harvard shot a 72, and Princeton's Yanjun Liu closed with a 73. Four players shot 74, including Paravantavida.
Â
Also for the Bison on Sunday, Tara Thomas carded an 80, Sun Woo Jeon shot 83, Viveka Kurup posted an 84, and Kelsey Yi shot 88. Tatum McKelvey also tallied an 80 while playing as an individual.
Â
Princeton finished with a 299 for a 54-hole total of 891, good for an 11-stroke victory over runner-up Harvard. Richmond was third at 904, followed by Penn (911), Delaware (918) and Georgetown (918).
Â
Bucknell and 11th-place Fairleigh Dickinson (308) were the only teams in the field to produce their best score of the weekend in the final round.
Â
After shooting 72-72 on Saturday, Princeton's Tiffany Kong closed with a 77, but that was still good enough for a one-shot win over teammate Liu.
