VESTAL, N.Y. – The Bucknell men's lacrosse team rolled past Binghamton, 16-4, on Tuesday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
The Bison (4-1, 0-0 PL) held the Bearcats (1-3, 0-0 AEC) scoreless for nearly 35 minutes while netting 10 goals of their own. Will Yorke led the offensive onslaught, logging four goals and three assists, while freshmen Jack Feda, Jack Billitier, Luke Diiorio and Ethan Opdahl each netted his first collegiate goal in the final six minutes of regulation to put an exclamation mark on the resounding victory.
Bucknell's lock-down defense was led by Travis Talarico (3), Hunter Newman (2) and Conor Shears (2), who all caused multiple turnovers. Talarico also tied faceoff specialist Nick Crovatto for the team lead with six ground balls.
Notably, the Bison goalies only faced eight shots on net over the course of the entire contest. Crovatto went 12-for-18 in the faceoff x, winning five of six during Bucknell's 5-0 third quarter.
At the second quarter's 7:49 mark, the Bison and Bearcats were locked in a 3-3 tie. Brett Hobbs kicked off what would become a 10-0 Bucknell run with 5:25 on the clock in that frame; facing a double team, he pulled off a twisting shot as he fell to the ground that found the back of the net.
In total, 10 different Bison netted a goal. Beyond Yorke, Alston Tarry (2g-3a) and Hobbs (2g-1a) had at least three points. Yorke set a new Bucknell record with 18 shots, three more than the previous school standard last matched by Tommy Sopko at Bryant.
The Bison held advantages in shots (53-17), shots on goal (36-8) and ground balls (44-30); they also went 5-for-6 on the man advantage and held Binghamton to 20-for-33 on clears.
Bucknell returns to action on Saturday at 12 p.m. by hosting Marist.

From that point on, it was all Bison. Binghamton wouldn't net another goal until the fourth quarter's 3:17 mark, just over two minutes following Feda's first collegiate strike. Bucknell responded with three goals in the final three minutes of regulation; after Billitier netted his first collegiate goal, Diiorio and Opdahl did the same 14 seconds apart. Diiorio's strike came in transition following a turnover while Opdahl's came off the resulting faceoff win.Brett Hobbs, everybody. 🤯
