Women's Swim & Dive Hosts Johns Hopkins Friday, Travels to Army West Point Saturday

Bucknell at a Glance
• Bucknell enters the second half of its dual schedule with a 6-1 (5-1 Patriot League) record. The Bison most recently took third at the Bucknell Invitational, which was held Dec. 6-8.
• Maddie Hartigan was selected as the Patriot League Female Swimmer and Bison Athlete of the Week after winning three gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal at the Bucknell Invitational. In addition, Paige Schoelkopf was tabbed as the Patriot League Female Diver of the Week for placing fourth in the 3-meter dive and seventh in the 1-meter dive.
• In 2018-19, the Bison finished dual competition with an impressive 8-1 (6-1 Patriot League) record. With their Senior Day triumph over rival Lehigh, they reached the eight-win threshold for the first time since the 2013-14 campaign, when they went 8-2 (6-0 Patriot League).
• Bucknell went on to place third (482 points) at the 10-team Patriot League Championships and third (322 points) at the 24-team ECAC Championships. The Bison's third-place showing at the Patriot League Championships was their best since 2015, when they were the runners-up; they were bolstered by eight medal-winning performances, including an individual title by Hartigan in the 1,650 freestyle.
• Hartigan (1st), Julie Byrne (1st), Maggie Wyngowski (1st) and Abigail Rosenberg (2nd) were Bucknell's 2019 All-Patriot League honorees.
• Of Bucknell's 2019 All-Patriot League selections, Byrne and Rosenberg were lost to graduation. The Bison also returned Emma Hadley, a 2017 All-Patriot League First Team and 2018 All-Patriot League Second Team honoree.
• Two school-record holders are on the 2019-20 roster: Hartigan (500 freestyle, 4:46.62) and Wyngowski (200 breaststroke, 2:14.54; 400 IM, 4:17.80).
• Returnees Emily Gorham (200 freestyle), Hadley (200 medley, 400 medley), Hartigan (800 freestyle), Katherine O'Shea (200 freestyle) and Wyngowski (200 medley) were members of school record setting relay teams.
• The program welcomed 10 newcomers in 2019-20. They hail from six different states: Pennsylvania (4), Connecticut (2), Florida, Maryland, New Jersey and New York.

Johns Hopkins at a Glance/Series History
• Johns Hopkins is currently 5-3 on the season. The Blue Jays have faced seven Division I opponents.
• Johns Hopkins placed 13th at the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships with 99 points. Thirteen Blue Jays combined to capture 24 All-America laurels.
• Kiki Petersen, now a senior, totaled a team-best six All-America honors at the 2019 championships. She has totaled 14 in her career.
• Five of Johns Hopkins's seven top-five finishes at the NCAA Division III Championships have come in the past eight seasons.
• This will be the second meeting between the Bison and Blue Jays. Last season, Bucknell topped Johns Hopkins, 182-112, with seven individuals and one relay team combining to win 10 events.

• Army West Point is currently 2-2 (0-1 Patriot League). The Black Knights will face Lehigh on Friday, Jan. 10 before squaring off against the Bison the next day.
• At the 2019 Patriot League Championships, Army West Point was the runner-up with 496 points, just 14 more than third-place Bucknell.
• The Bison lead the all-time series with the Black Knights, 18-8, bolstered by a 14-meet winning streak between 2002 and 2015.
• Bucknell snapped a three-meet losing skid to Army West Point with a 174-126 victory at Kinney Natatorium. In total, the Bison accumulated 27 top-three finishes, bolstered by going 1-2-3 in the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 200 backstroke.
• Against the Black Knights, Julie Byrne and Maddie Hartigan accounted for six of Bucknell's 10 first-place finishes. Byrne touched the wall first in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and 200 IM while Hartigan outraced the field in the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle.
