Men's Swim & Dive Hosts Johns Hopkins Friday, Travels to Army West Point Saturday

Bucknell at a Glance
• Bucknell enters the second half of its dual schedule with a 5-2 (4-2 Patriot League) record. The Bison most recently hosted the Bucknell Invitational on Dec. 6-8, where they placed sixth.
• Mitch Gavars was Bucknell's standout performer at the Bucknell Invitational, winning a silver medal in the 1,650 freestyle. Gavars was the Bison's highest individual finisher at the three-day event.
• Will Cadwallader was tabbed as the Patriot League Male Diver to the Week after taking sixth on both the 1-meter (251.70) and 3-meter (245.65) boards at the Bucknell Invitational.
• Bucknell's 5-2 start is its best since the 2013-14 campaign. That season, the Bison went 5-1 (4-0 Patriot League) in their first six duals en route to a 7-3 (5-1 Patriot League) record.
• In 2018-19, Bucknell went 3-5 (3-4 Patriot League). The Bison went on to place third (397 points) at the 10-team Patriot League Championships and fourth (313 points) at the 24-team ECAC Championships.
• Chadd Cummings (2nd), Charlie McFarland (2nd) and Matt McGoey (2nd) were Bucknell's 2019 All-Patriot League honorees. McGoey made the All-Patriot League Second Team for the second year in a row.
• Of Bucknell's 2019 All-Patriot League selections, Cummings and McFarland were lost to graduation.
• McGoey is the lone returning individual school record holder; he owns the Bison standard in the 200 IM (1:47.84).
• Returnees Jacob Lubinski (400 medley), McGoey (200 freestyle), Liam Pitt (200 medley, 200 freestyle) and Jack Rose (200 medley) were members of school record setting relay teams.
• The Bison are very young in 2019-20, featuring a roster with 27 underclassmen. They have only two seniors: McGoey and Michael Park.
• The program welcomed nine newcomers in 2019-20. They hail from five different states: California (4), New York (2), Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Additions to Bucknell's Top-10 List During the Bucknell Invitational
• Leo Kuyl - 9th in the 50 freestyle (20.63)
• Jack Rose - 9th in the 100 backstroke (50.31)
• Matt McGoey, Matt Mills, Jack Rose, Leo Kuyl - 10th in the 200 freestyle relay (1:22.54)
Johns Hopkins at a Glance/Series History
• Johns Hopkins is currently 2-5 on the season. To date, the Division III Blue Jays have faced six Division I opponents.
• Johns Hopkins placed fourth at the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships with 300 points. Eleven Blue Jays combined to earn 37 All-America honors.
• Brandon Fabian, now a senior, and Emile Kuyl, who has since graduated, earned the maximum seven All-America honors for the second-straight season.
• Kuyl, who graduated as a 19-time All-American, is the older brother of Bison freshman Leo Kuyl.
• Johns Hopkins finished fourth at the NCAA championship meet five of the past six years, including the past four in a row.
• This will be the second meeting between the Bison and Blue Jays. A season ago, Johns Hopkins scored a 174-114 victory over Bucknell at Kinney Natatorium.

• Army West Point is currently 1-2-1 (0-1 Patriot League). The Black Knights will face Lehigh on Friday, Jan. 10 before squaring off against the Bison the next day.
• At the 2019 Patriot League Championships, Army West Point was the runner-up with 781.5 points, a single point higher than their 2018 total. The Black Knights' point total was the second-highest posted at the Patriot League championship meet in the past 17 years.
• Army West Point has finished second behind Navy at the past seven Patriot League Championships.
• The Black Knights lead the all-time series with Bucknell, 28-5, and are currently riding a seven-meet winning streak.
• Army West Point dispatched the Bison, 203.5-91.5, in their most recent meeting last year at Kinney Natatorium. Bucknell finished the meet with 16 top-three finishes, including victories by Matt McGoey (200 IM) and the 400 freestyle relay team of Nate Romanowski, Vince Filippini, Nico Pagni and Mitch Gavars.
