About the Bison
• The Bucknell men's tennis team prepares for a Sunday match against Siena in South Williamsport, Pa. Bucknell is coming off a strong performance at the NJIT tournament last weekend.
• Junior Marwan Abaza went 3-0 in singles at the NJIT tournament and is now 4-0 to begin the spring. Abaza also reached number one on the Patriot League's Top 3 Plays of the Week. Abaza has been a part of three doubles victories this season as well.
• Sophomores Cooper Bradshaw and Ryan Jurist collected their first singles wins of the spring last weekend. Bradshaw is now 2-2 in singles play on the early season. Freshman Michael Owen is coming off an undefeated weekend in singles as well. He and Bradshaw collected a doubles win in the season opener vs. Fordham.
• The Bison went 4-3 in doubles at the NJIT tournament, as head coach Bruce Myers continues to mix up tandems.
• Bucknell has faced Siena in duals each of the last two years and is 2-0 against the Saints during that stretch.
Scouting Siena
• Siena faces Saint Joseph's and Lehigh this weekend to begin its spring season before making the trip to South Williamsport.
• The Saints went 2-1 in duals during the fall, including wins over Sacred Heart and Rider.
• Siena went 4-12 overall last spring, including a 4-3 loss to Bucknell.
Up Next
• Bucknell returns to play next weekend with matches against Monmouth and Saint Francis. The Bison face the Hawks in West Long Branch, N.J. on Saturday, Feb. 8, then return home to host the Red Flash at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9.
