LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University men's track and field team will compete in two meets this weekend. A group of Bison will head to nearby University Park, Pa. for the Penn State National Open, while another group will remain in Lewisburg to compete in the Bison Open and Multi.
Setting the Scene:
What: Bison Open and Multi/Penn State National Open
When: Friday, Jan. 31 – Saturday, Feb. 1
Where: Gerhard Fieldhouse/ Ashenfelter III Indoor Track
Live Results: Bison Open and Multi | Penn State National Open
Watch: FloTrack (Penn State)
"This weekend is always a fun weekend for our athletes as we split the team up to best meet their needs," said Head Coach Kevin Donner. "The meet at Penn State is a high quality meet, and it's our first time on a banked track which allows for faster times in the oval events. The Bison Open has a lot of smaller schools, and with the volume of people, some of the events end up being very competitive. The weekend gives everyone an opportunity to compete, and gives the coaches some current data as we start to choose our travel rosters for the next two weeks at the Sykes Sabock Invitational at Penn State and the Doug Raymond Invitational at Kent State."

About the Bison
- Bucknell took top honors at the Gulden Invite on Saturday, taking the top spot for the second consecutive meet.
- Nicholas Marino won his second Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week award of the young season after setting a new personal-best indoors (16-8.75) in the pole vault. The junior has now set personal-bests in back-to-back weeks, and his mark set on Saturday is the third-best in the Bucknell record books. Additionally, Marino ranks first in the Patriot League, and is ranked 46th in Division I.
- C.J. Falcioni continued his strong start to the year, setting a personal-best in the weight throw (60-03) two weeks after setting a personal-best in the shot put (52-4.5) at the Angry Birds Challenge. Both marks rank in the Bucknell top ten.
- Joining Falcioni in the top ten this weekend was Zach Ruiz, who placed second in the shot put (52-04) to move into ninth on Bucknell's all-time list.
- Brendan Bodisch earned a win in the 400 (49.74) to take first in the 400 in a personal-best time, while Alex Dessoye placed first in the 500 (1:06.23). Both times were IC4A standards.
- Stefone Moore-Green has made a successful transition to the track after wrapping up his football career in the fall. The senior qualified for IC4As in the 200 (22.03), and was just .03 short of tying Isaih Bell and Malachi Bostic-Wattley for the tenth spot on Bucknell's top ten list.
- At Penn State last year, Sean Conway record the highest individual finish for the Bison in the 600 (1:20.66), while sophomore Owen Chase placed in the top ten in the 1000.
- Bucknell will travel to Penn State once again next weekend for the Sykes & Sabock Challenge.
