Men's Track & Field Notches Solid Showings at Day Two of the Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Bucknell men's track & field recorded several strong showings and the 4x100-meter relay team earned qualification into the finals tomorrow on the second day of the Penn Relays.Â
Results
The quartet of Amani Brown, Preston Lubeski, Garrett Backus, and Luke Petryna blitzed their way into the 4x100-meter relay college finals tomorrow with a preliminary time of 41.28. The mark recorded sixth at the event and moved the foursome into eighth all-time at Bucknell. The finals for the event is scheduled for 3:55 p.m. tomorrow.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Brown, Lubeski, Petryna, and Ethan Fianko narrowly missed qualification for tomorrow's finals with their 12th place time of 3:13.74. The mark was 0.26 seconds away from ninth - the final qualification bid.Â
The distance medley relay quartet of Colin Reuther, Colin Burke, JP Byrnes, and Carter Paul slotted 14th on a time of 10:03.46.Â
Alex Polenik finished sixth in the discus throw. He recorded marks on five of his six tries. The attempt was the most successful as he threw 50.99m (167-3).
Lucas Williams cleared his first two heights without fault before striking out three times at 15-11.75. Williams finished seventh on the strength of his 15-5.75 clearance.
Braiden Pulver slotted 12nd in the shot put college event. His best mark of 16.52m (54-2.25) came unlocked during his third and final chance.
CJ Simbiri leaped 46-10.25 in the triple jump. The mark, which arrived in his final attempt, placed the Bison jumper at 19th.Â
Colin Krause finished 25th in the javelin throw. He hit his best mark of 51.00m (167-4) in his last try.Â
Jeffrey Cianfrocca rounded out the jumpers and cleared 6-3.25 in the high jump for a 22nd place finish.Â
The Penn Relays conclude tomorrow with a multitude of events.Â
