Men's Tennis Battles Penn on Opening Day of Temple Invite

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Bucknell men's tennis battled with Penn to begin the Temple Invite Friday afternoon. The dual featured a pair of hard-fought three-set matchups and a win for freshman Michael Owen.
Owen was matched up with Penn's Jason Hildebrant, and was headed to a third set following a 3-6, 6-5 score before Hildebrandt retired.
Cooper Bradshaw's flight A meeting with Noah Makarome went down to the wire after the sophomore won the opening set, but the Penn junior came away with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory.
Also playing in a close one was freshman Chunyu Chen. Chen went up against Jonah Jurick in the B flight, and was off to a good start with a 6-2 first set. However, Jurick claimed the tiebreaker to win 2-6, 6-3, 10-6.
Tomorrow, the Bison face Wagner for the first time in program history. The Seahawks lost to Temple 7-0 on the first day of the Temple Invite.
