About the Bison
• Bucknell is off to a 2-2 start in 2019 following wins over Lock Haven and VCU, and losses to JMU and Richmond. It's the second-consecutive season the Bison have gone 2-2 through the first four contests.
• Brittany Willwerth and Emily Doyle each have two goals on the season, while Leah Fogelsanger and Mackenzie Kile lead the team with two assists each. Kaelyn Long and Allie Christopher also have assists this season.
• Willwerth was an honorable mention for Patriot League Player of the Week this week after scoring both goals in the Bison's 2-1 win over VCU on Saturday. She was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team prior to the season.
•Another preseason honoree, Olivia Harris, has 25 saves on the season and a 1.73 goals against average. The senior recorded her fourth-career shutout at Lock Haven on Sept. 8.
• Bucknell attempted a season-high in shots (12) and penalty corners (11) last match vs. Richmond.
About Syracuse/Series History
• Syracuse is 3-1 this season following an 8-8 campaign in 2018. The Orange fell to Duke in the ACC tournament last season, and entered this year ranked 18 in the country.
• Senior Claire Webb was named to the Preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference Team prior to the start of the season. The defender registered three assists last season and was a major contributor on defense.
• Syracuse freshman Charlotte De Vries currently leads her team in goals with five, including two game-winners. Four other members of the roster have each scored once.
• The Orange defeated Patriot League opponent Lafayette earlier in the season 3-2 in double-overtime. The team's single loss was to Cornell last weekend.
• Syracuse holds a 10-1 all-time record against Bucknell. The Orange defeated the Bison 3-0 last season in New York.
Next Up
Bucknell jumps into Patriot League play with a 1 p.m. matchup with Boston University on Saturday, Sept. 21. The Terriers won the Patriot League Tournament in 2018.
