LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell field hockey finished 8-7 this year and achieved its first back-to-back winning seasons since 2008 & 2009. The league coaches acknowledged the Bison's accomplishment by naming Sarah Althouse, Julia Corropolese, and Bella Notaro, to the Second Team All-Patriot League, as announced Tuesday by the conference office. Althouse is a three-time honoree while Corropolese and Notaro are first-time recipients.Â
"I'm extremely proud of Sarah, Julia, and Bella being recognized on the Patriot League's Second Team," head coach Kelsey Usefara said. "They each played significant impact roles on our team this season and I'm happy to see their efforts were rewarded."
Althouse notched her third Second Team laurel after completing a career which saw her become Bucknell's all-time wins leader (32) and rank eighth in saves (333) and shutouts (11). The senior goalkeeper set a career-high in single-season saves (94), second-best in the Patriot League. Her .758 save percentage ranked third in the circuit. Althouse is the fourth Bison to receive three consecutive Second Team honors, joining Steph Graf (2005-27), Morgan Kauffman (2008-10), and Gianna Puorro (2023-25) in that select crowd.Â
Corropolese entered her senior season having played only 54 minutes in the last two years. The senior defender received a starting assignment and transformed into one of the league's best on the backline while developing a potent stroke on penalty corners. Her six defensive saves were tied for first in the conference, tied for third nationally, and rank tied for fifth in Bucknell single-season history. Offensively, she led Bucknell with five goals and tied for first in points (12).Â
Notaro developed into Bucknell's best open-field scorer, tallying four goals, including the game-winning cage-finders against La Salle and Quinnipiac. The Bison's foremost inserter for penalty corners, she supplied four assists, tying with Sally Hunter for the team lead. The Field Hockey Analyst named her to the 2026 Division I Returners Watchlist and the junior lived up to the billing.Â
Bucknell field hockey, stocked with young talent and adding even a larger quantity, returns next fall.Â
