LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell field hockey continued its long-standing tradition of balancing academic and athletic success by placing two student-athletes on the Academic All-Patriot League Team, as announced Wednesday morning by the conference office. Bella Notaro and Brooke Parker are both first-time recipients and were major contributors in Bucknell's 8-7 campaign, as Bucknell notched back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2008 & 2009.Â
Bucknell has placed, at least, one student-athlete on the Academic All-Patriot Team since the squad's creation in 2010. The Bison have landed two or more in every year except 2025.Â
Notaro, who received Second Team All-Patriot League Team honors yesterday, double dipped into the awards bowl. The junior forward, an Arts & Design major, carries a sterling 3.77 GPA. On the pitch, she tied for Bucknell's points lead with 12 on four goals and four assists. Notaro also supplied two game-winning goals against La Salle and Quinnipiac, as part of her breakout campaign.Â
Parker anchored Bucknell's backline as an ardent defender. She started 13 out of 15 games and totaled 732 minutes. Parker supplied two assists. However, her greatest contributions did not appear in statistical categories, but in how she held down her flank against aggressive forwards. A Neuroscience major, she owns a magnificent 3.91 GPA. Parker started a book drive in 2022 called Brooke's Books, which has donated over 5,000 volumes and counting.Â
Bucknell field hockey returns to action next fall.Â
