LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Eline Vermeulen recently joined the Bucknell Athletics staff as a student-athlete development assistant. Vermeulen, a former captain of the Boston University women's rowing team, was most recently working as an assistant in the offices of Leadership and Career Development and Facilities at her alma mater.Â
"We are very excited to have Eline join our staff," said Jen Kentera, senior associate director of athletics, for leadership development. "Eline brings experience as both a Patriot League student-athlete herself and in working with her peers in the student-athlete development space. Her perspective and ability to connect with this level of student-athlete will positively impact the programming and support we can continue to provide to our Bison student-athletes and coaches." Â
In the Leadership and Career Development office at Boston University, Vermeulen assisted in the development of the curriculum for the Bloom Family Leadership Academy, and she co-facilitated sessions for 150 student-athletes and coaches. She also helped administer the program's application process, and she helped start and co-managed the Terrier Network alumni database.Â
A native of Belgium, Vermeulen earned bachelor of arts degrees in both psychology and international relations in 2015. She then received her master's degree in higher education and higher education administration from Boston University in 2017. Vermeulen was a standout coxswain on the Terriers' rowing team. She received the Student-Athlete Service Award and was inducted into the Boston University Scarlet Key Honor Society during her senior year.Â
