Bucknell Athletics Leadership Institute
One key part of the LEAD component of the Bucknell Athletics Enrichment program is the Bucknell Athletics
Leadership Institute. The Institute is comprised of four increasing levels of leadership development meant to offer
student-athletes a variety of opportunities to develop and grow their leadership skills.

LEADERSHIP LABS
- One to two open workshops each semester for any student-athlete interested in growing their leadership skills
- Each focused on a specific leadership topic or speaker

IGNITING LEADERS
Objective: Provide holistic and inclusive leadership programming to support select student athletes in their
personal growth as leaders and positive change makers on their teams and in the world beyond
- Explore topics around self-awareness, followership, leadership models & theories, communication and conflict as
- well as their personal leadership style
- Open to sophomores and juniors who are nominated by their head coach or earn a spot through the open
- application

TEAM LEADER ROUND TABLE
Objective: Provide a facilitated opportunity for current team leaders to grow their leadership network by bringing
and working through real-time leadership challenges
- Will offer guest facilitators, themes and open dialogue supported by leadership pedagogy
- The group meets three times per semester and has access to additional leadership growth opportunities
- Open to head coach nominated senior captains/leaders AND graduated Igniting Leaders

LEGACY LEADERS
Objective: Provide tailored support based on individual leadership needs while fostering continued growth. Through
DISC - Athlete Assessment, members have the opportunity for 360 feedback
- Will offer guest facilitators, themes and open dialogue supported by leadership pedagogy
- The group meets two times per semester and has access to additional leadership growth opportunities
- Open to graduated Team Leaders Round Table members (who have previously completed the Igniting Leaders
- level)
