Eline Vermeulen joined the Bucknell Athletics department in July 2019 as a student-athlete development assistant, and she was promoted to assistant AD for Student-Athlete Enrichment during the 2022-23 academic year and then to associate AD for Student-Athlete Enrichment in 2023-24. Vermeulen oversees the department's broad-based student-athlete development program, including the Bucknell Athletics Leadership Institute, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and other offerings such as community service, mental performance, health and wellness, professional development, and personal excellence.Â
Vermeulen, a former captain of the Boston University women's rowing team, was most recently working as an assistant in the offices of Leadership and Career Development and Facilities at her alma mater before coming to Bucknell.Â
In the Leadership and Career Development office at Boston University, Vermeulen assisted in the development of the curriculum for the Bloom Family Leadership Academy, and she co-facilitated sessions for 150 student-athletes and coaches. She also helped administer the program's application process, and she helped start and co-managed the Terrier Network alumni database.Â
A native of Belgium, Vermeulen earned bachelor of arts degrees in both psychology and international relations in 2015. She then received her master's degree in higher education and higher education administration from Boston University in 2017. Vermeulen was a standout coxswain on the Terriers' rowing team. She received the Student-Athlete Service Award and was inducted into the Boston University Scarlet Key Honor Society during her senior year.Â
