Marino and Melchionni Earn Wins at Army Twilight

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Billy Melchionni took first in the 100, while Nicholas Marino and David Kelly went 1-2 in the pole vault as the Bison competed at the Army Twilight Meet for the final tune up before IC4As this coming weekend.
Melchionni (10.96), ran the open edition of the 100 for the first time since taking first place in the event at the Maroon and Gold Invite on April 29, 2017.
Marino (16-1 ¼) posted a season-best to take first, while Kelly (14-7 ½) took second.
Will Briggs was eighth in the discus (153-5), while Zach Ruiz was 11th (144-7).
C.J. Falcioni took seventh in the hammer throw (184-5) just shy of his personal-best of 185-8 that he set at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships.
In the 800, Scott Gulizio placed ninth (1:52.26) to follow up a seventh-place showing at the Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Sean Conway (12th, 1:53.40), Owen Concaugh (16th, 1:54.42), and Robert Dessoye (24th, 1:55.98) each posted solid times.
In the 1500, Jake Stupak placed eighth (3:50.91), while Owen Chase (4:00.26) was 16th.
The Bison will compete next at IC4As this coming weekend on the campus of Princeton University.
