Overview
- The Bison will send five women, Grace Camerlingo (100 & 200-meter dashes), Alexandra Lea (200 & 400-meter dashes), Raygan Lust (200 & 400-meter dashes), Jordan Muraglia (200-meter dash & long jump), and Noelani Sadler (100 & 400-meter hurdles) and four men, Ethan Fianko (200 & 400-meter dashes), Ethan Knight (110 & 400-meter hurdles), Preston Lubeski (200 & 400-meter dashes), and Luke Petryna (100 & 200-meter dashes) to the Virginia Challenge.Â
- Camerlingo, a silver medalist in the 60-meter dash at the Patriot League Indoor Championships, will make her outdoor debut this weekend.Â
- The rest of the squad, minus a few rested starters, will compete in the ECAC-IC4A Championships, which were rescheduled from a postseason competition to the regular season.Â
- US National Champion Evelyn Bliss will not throw this weekend after setting the facility, meet, and school record in the javelin at last week's Bison Outdoor Classic. The junior superstar threw 61.34m (201-3) to sit number one in the NCAAs and the world. The distance ranks seventh in USA history.Â
- Bliss repeated as the Patriot League Women's Field Athlete of the Week and Bison of the Week. No-doubters after her incredible weekend.Â
- Bucknell's women position groups continue to be well-represented in the national rankings. The women's javelin quartet sits #11 and should rise with Madelyn Hudak returning to action this weekend. Steeplechase has galloped to #18. Women's discus slots #25. Women's shot put ranks #29.Â
- The men's groups rank #17 in the shot put, #19 in the discus, and #24 in the hammer.
- Bucknell's men won four events at the Bison Outdoor Classic.Â
- Henry Didden began the weekend with an exciting victory in the 10,000-meter run.Â
- The two jumps crew produced two wins with Jeffrey Cianfrooca (high jump) and CJ Simbiri (triple jump).Â
- Will Feddeler concluded the event with a victory in the decathlon.Â
- The Bison women dominated the weekend with three school records and multiple new top ten marks.Â
- Bliss headlined the event with her historic throw but Lea reset her school record in the 200-meter dash, running 23.53, surpassing her 23.58 ran at last year's Patriot League Outdoor Championships. Lea is fully healthy after suffering nicks and bruises during the grueling indoor campaign.
- Grace Vives displaced Karly Forker from the mile run throne with a time of 4:55.25.Â
- Elizabeth Bryant supplied another win for the Bison effort. The senior cleared 12-7.50 in the pole vault to improve upon her second place spot in Bucknell's record book.Â
Bucknell continues its attendance at prestigious competitions by heading to the historic Penn Relays next weekend.Â
