Men's Tennis Evens League Record with 6-1 Win at Loyola (Md.)

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Bucknell tennis team evened its Patriot League record at 2-2 with a 6-1 win over Loyola (Md.) on Sunday at the McClure Tennis Center. The Bison won five of six singles matches and two of three doubles contests as they improved to 8-11 overall.
Freshman Ethan Jacobs improved to 2-1 in Patriot League matches while playing all three at the top of the lineup. He defeated senior Brian Hoffarth in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
The Bison won in each of the top three spots of the lineup as Max McDonald was a 6-2, 7-5 winner on court two, and Marwan Abaza came out on top, 6-0, 6-2, on court three.
Bucknell added victories from a pair of freshman at the bottom of the lineup. Ryan Jurist won 6-2, 6-4 on court five, while Cooper Bradshaw posted 6-1, 6-3 scores on court six.
In doubles, Abaza and McDonald teamed for a 6-3 win on court one, and Jacobs and Bradshaw prevailed by the same scores on court three.
The Greyhonds dropped to 5-9 overall and 2-3 in the Patriot League.
The Bison will play another league match when they travel to take on Lafayette on Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Leopards are 4-9 overall and 1-4 in the conference after losing 5-2 against Delaware in their most recent match.
