Live Scoring About the Bison
- Bucknell is back in competitive action for the first time in nearly a month when it tees off at the Hoya Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Four Streams.
- This is the team's third spring tournament, but the first since March 11-12, when the Bison placed fifth at their own Spring Break Intercollegiate at the Reunion Resort in Florida. Prior to that, Bucknell participated in the Kiawah Island Spring Classic in late-February.
- On the course this week for Lisa Francisco's squad will be Katie Childers, Casey Morrow, Sun Woo Jeon, Eunbbie Kim and Graysen Bright. Seniors Bright and Kim are both making their spring debuts, and it will be a homecoming for both of them as well. Bright is a Rockville, Md., native (Wootton H.S.), while Kim is from Potomac, Md. (Churchill H.S.).
- Meredith Langs was Bucknell's low player last time out in Orlando. She posted a pair of 79s to finish T-12th. Childers also opened with a 79 but had to withdraw due to injury.
- The Bison improved in each round in their spring debut at Kiawah, posting scores of 323-310-306. Bucknell finished in 39th place in a talented 49-team field.
- Childers was the low Bison at Kiawah, posting 77-75-75 for a T-86th finish in a field of 253 competitors. Langs (83-75-76), Erin Holmes (79-82-76), Sally Sohn (86-80-79) and Morrow (84-80-83) also saw action.
- The Bison are coming off a tremendous fall season in which they competed in five tournaments and set a school record with a 310.1 team scoring average. The previous mark was 312.0 by the 2011-12 squad.
- Bucknell chopped more than nine strokes off its average from last season, and one of the reasons was significant improvement throughout the lineup. The Bison only had to count a score in the 80s five times in 15 rounds in the fall
- Also setting a fall scoring record was senior Childers with a 76.1 average in 15 rounds. The senior bettered the record of 76.8, set last season by former teammate Lindsay Dodovich. Childers also leads the team with a 76.5 spring average.
- Along with Childers, Morrow (76.7), Holmes (78.7), Sohn (79.5) and Langs (79.9) gave Bucknell five players with averages in the 70s for the first time in team history.
- Morrow had the low round of the fall with an even-par 72 in the final round of the Pinehurst Challenge.
- This is Bucknell's fifth all-time appearance in Georgetown's spring tournament, which debuted in 2003. The Bison also appeared in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2017.
- Bucknell's best finish here was sixth place in both 2004 and 2005.
- In 2004, Bucknell's Celine Herbin won the individual title with a 5-over 149 (76-73) at Reston National CC. Herbin played one year for the Bison as an exchange student from France. She is now an active member of the LPGA Tour.
- The Bison are back in action Apr. 13-14 at the Hartford Hawks Invitational at Tumble Brook CC in Connecticut.
