Bucknell took a 1-0 lead in the first inning after a sac fly to center field from JohnPaul Bell scored Dominic Toso.
However, the Mountaineers scored six runs on just two hits in the bottom of the frame to take an early 6-1 lead before adding four runs in the bottom of the third to make the score 10-2.
Bucknell fought back in the fourth, doing all of its damage with two outs. Evan Madigan singled, followed by a walk from Brendan Lowery and a single from Luke Hartman.
Hartman's single scored Madigan for Bucknell's first run, before Dominic Toso cleared the bases with his second home run of the season to right center.
The three-run shot cut the Mount St. Mary's lead to 10-6, before an Alex Baumann single that scored Tyler Wincig helped close the gap to three, 10-7.
The Bison loaded the bases in the top of the fifth down 10-7, but could not put any runs across in the inning.
The Mountaineers added three runs in the bottom of the sixth, two in the bottom of the seventh, and one in the eighth to claim a 16-7 win.
Toso finished 3-for-4 from the plate with three RBIs, while Hartman was 3-for-6 with an RBI. Bell, Wincig, and Baumann also drove in a single run. Toso's home run was his second in the past four games, and the third of his career.
The Bison will have a quick turnaround for their next game, as they host La Salle on Wednesday afternoon at Depew Field. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
