RALEIGH, N.C. – The Bucknell University women's track and field team competed on day one of the Raleigh Relays on Friday.
Results
"(Kaitlin) Salisbury had a great day finishing 6th in the 100 and 7th in long jump," said Head Coach Kevin Donner. "She beat some very good people. Payton (Capes) was very good in the 1500 with a nice PR and (Nora) Bennett had a very good bounce back race after a tough steeple last week at Penn."
Salisbury was sixth out of 60 competitors in the 100 after running a time of 12.06 in the event. She also placed seventh in the long jump out of 46 athletes after leaping 18-6 1/2.
Payton Capes finished 54th in a field of 154 after running a time of 4:34.63 in the 1500, just off of the pace of a top ten time in Bucknell history and a new personal-best. She was also just shy of ECAC qualification.
Freshman Nora Bennett posted a time of 4:42.92 in the 1500 in her first time running the event.
Becca Rooney placed 29th in the 400 after running a time of 57.57, just .49 shy of earning a place on Bucknell's all-time top ten list.
Molly Montalvo was 33rd in the shot put after a throw of 38-6 ¼.
Bucknell will continue the Raleigh Relays on Saturday. The event will be streamed beginning at 1:20 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
